The short version: classes are donation based, plans change and that is fine, and we keep as little of your information as we can.
Booking and cancelling
Sign up on the schedule page. Nothing is due to hold your place — reserving and paying are separate steps on purpose.
Every email we send you about a class carries a cancel link. One tap takes you off the list, any time up to the moment class begins, and you never owe us a reason. Once class has started the link stops working; reply to any of our emails instead and we will sort it out.
Donations and refunds
Classes are donation based. We suggest $20, and what works for you is the right amount. Nobody is turned away for not contributing — if money is the thing standing between you and your practice this week, come anyway.
If you have sent a donation and then cannot make the class, reply to any of our emails. We will either count it toward another class or send it straight back, whichever you would rather.
If we cancel a class, everyone signed up is emailed as soon as we know. If you had already given, the same choice applies: credit or refund.
Payments go through Venmo or Apple Cash, directly to Holland or Peter. We never see or store your card details, and the site cannot see a payment arrive — tapping a payment link is what tells us you have given.
Liability waiver
We ask everyone to read and sign our liability waiver once, before their first class. You can sign it online in about a minute, or print the PDF and hand it to us on paper. Until we have it, we cannot send you the joining details for an online class.
A signed waiver is a legal record, so we keep it for as long as it could matter, even if you stop coming to class.
Class recordings
Every online class is recorded. The recording goes up about half an hour after class, stays available for one week, and then comes down. Details are on the recordings page. The email that carries your Zoom link says so too: clicking the link and joining the class is your acknowledgement and acceptance that the session is recorded.
Classes start with cameras off and everyone muted, so in the ordinary case you are not in the recording at all. If you turn your camera or microphone on, you may be. If you would rather not be recorded at any point, say so and we will work around it.
Watch links are private to the person they are sent to. Please do not forward them. We keep an archived copy of each recording in a private Google Drive folder that only we can see.
Your information
What we collect. Your name and email address; anything you type into a note or a message; which classes you sign up for; whether you have told us you paid. When you sign the waiver we also record the date, your computer’s network address and browser, because that is what makes an electronic signature stand up later. We keep a short-lived count of submissions per network address so that automated spam cannot flood the forms.
What we do not do. We do not sell, rent or share your information for anyone else’s marketing. There are no advertising trackers on this site. We never handle your card or bank details.
Who else is involved. Running the site needs a few outside services, and each sees only the part it needs: Google Calendar holds the class schedule, Zoom hosts and records online classes, Amazon SES delivers our email, Google Drive stores the recording archive, Cloudflare provides the “are you human” check on our forms, and Venmo and Apple Cash handle payments under their own terms.
How long we keep it. Signed waivers, indefinitely, as described above. The record of signups and donations we keep as our running history of the practice. Recordings are watchable for one week and archived privately after that. The private links in your emails stop working a week after the class they belong to.
Your choices. Ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it — reply to any of our emails or use the contact form, and we will do it. The one thing we may need to keep is a signed waiver, for as long as it could matter legally.
